[10/30/08] - I hate to hear this news. It's always tough to lose someone you know. Blackie was MY repairman, and helped me out on a number of occasions -- and ALWAYS with a smile and a story to tell.
I miss you guys!

Fellow Alumni, I have just received word that James (Blackie) Blackford has passed away a few days ago in Florida. Many of you will remember him as the instrument repairman in the 70's. Blackie attended this past reunion. Always sad to lose an alumni, especially such a popular one. FYI: his address is: 2025 Cochise Trail, Casselberry, FL 32707. I'll send a card on behalf of the Alumni Association members.

I caught this shot in an artsy shop window in Alexandria, Virginia. It sort of reminded me of my days in the old Navy. ;-)
